What our customers say

Mr Olin White from HEP arrived a little bit early which was very nice, he was very polite, very professional. He took the time to listen to my husband and I to get a better feel of what we were trying to accomplish. We have not started our project yet but I cannot imagine that their work will be anything less than stellar. I will recommend them too all of my family and friends and anyone else who I find needs a roof.

Ruben was excellent when I was having drain issues. He was quick, explained everything throughly, and made sure I knew what my options were. A wonderful experience I just put an offer in on a home and wanted someone to check the place out for me and HEP was there! Not only was every technician that came out friendly, but they made sure I understood everything that was being told to me! They gave me clear and honest opinions about my AC, Roof, and electrical. They told me what was wrong, how to fix it, an approximate on how much it would be and even advice to make sure I get the most out of my repair life. I'm a first time home buyer and they made me feel confident enough about the condition of my home to be able to make a sound decision on it. I'll recommend them to everyone I know!

Olin was fantastic. Friendly and arrived early after calling to say he would be coming out earlier than planned. I will leave another review after the work is done but we are looking forward to working with your company to get our roof taken care of. Thank you.

HEP was prompt in getting our job estimated and starting work. We had them replace a patio roof and perform some other minor repairs on the roof. They came out on Saturday, and Jason walked through everything, explaining the rationale behind his recommendations. They were exactly in line with existing recommendations from our home inspection, so I had confidence that he was giving his honest opinion and not just trying to upsell. Due to a clerical error, they removed our entire roof by accident, but replaced it at no cost. They immediately notified me when this happened and got it rectified right away. They were honest and transparent through the whole process. After the completion of the work, I notified them of a couple of punch list items and they knocked them out quickly without me having to pester or make a scene like you would with a less reputable contractor. This is the kind of contractor that you keep around. Reliable, easy to contact, responsive, and honest. I am a very independent DIYer, but if I can't do it, my first call will definitely be to HEP. . Thanks Jason and everyone at HEP.

Jason Shoupe did my roof inspection this morning. He was on time, professional and took his time to explain his findings. I like that he was able to prioritize how he would fix things so that I wasn’t overwhelmed. He took pictures so that I could see what repairs were needed.

We (Leroy and Helen Queen, my parents) had our leaky roof replaced by HEP at the end of July 2019. We had a wonderful experience from start to finish: from Joshua who recommended HEP for our roofing needs, to Jason our Sales Rep who measured and then inspected the finished work, to Chris in the office who helped us with the financing, to the crew of men that came out and did a marvelous job removing, installing, and then tidying up afterwards. We were mightily impressed; they worked so quickly. We highly recommend giving HEP a call for your roofing needs based on our own experience with them. They all worked really hard and quickly to get us a new roof; something we very greatly appreciate. Thanks HEP!

FAQs

What roofing materials are best suited for homes in Jasper's climate?

Asphalt shingles remain the most popular choice because they balance affordability, durability, and aesthetic variety. For homeowners seeking longer lifespans and superior storm resistance, metal roofing—especially standing-seam steel or aluminum—performs exceptionally well against Jasper’s hot summers and occasional severe thunderstorms. Slate and synthetic slate are premium options that offer outstanding longevity, but they are heavier and require reinforced framing. A professional roofer can evaluate your home’s structure and budget to recommend the optimal material.

How often should I have my roof inspected in Jasper?

We recommend a professional inspection at least once a year, ideally in the spring or fall, plus an additional check after any major hail or wind event. Regular inspections catch minor issues—such as lifted shingles, damaged flashing, or clogged valleys—before they lead to leaks or structural damage. Homeowners can perform quick visual checks from the ground, but a licensed roofer has the safety training and experience to spot hidden problems. Documented inspections also help streamline insurance claims if storm damage occurs.

What are common signs my roof needs repair or replacement?

Warning signs include curling or missing shingles, granules collecting in gutters, dark streaks or moss growth, interior ceiling stains, and sagging roof lines. In Jasper, hail impacts often leave small dents in metal components or pockmarks in shingles that compromise water resistance. If your asphalt roof is over 20 years old, replacement is usually more cost-effective than frequent patching. A thorough assessment by a trusted roofer will determine whether targeted repairs or a full reroof is the best solution.

How long does a typical roof replacement take in Jasper?

Most single-family homes can be completely reroofed in one to three days, depending on roof size, pitch, material selected, and weather conditions. Metal and specialty roofs may take slightly longer because of custom panel fabrication or intricate flashing details. Reliable contractors will provide a detailed timeline, including tear-off, decking repairs (if needed), underlayment installation, new roofing installation, and site cleanup. Unexpected weather delays are communicated promptly to keep you informed.

Will my homeowner’s insurance cover roof damage from storms?

In many cases, yes. Policies that include wind or hail coverage generally pay for repair or replacement when damage is sudden and accidental. It’s important to document the condition of your roof with photos and keep copies of inspection reports. After a storm, contact your insurer promptly and have a qualified roofer present during the adjuster’s visit to ensure all damage is noted. Deductibles and coverage limits vary, so review your policy to understand out-of-pocket costs.

Do I need a permit for roof replacement in Jasper, and who handles it?

Yes, the City of Jasper requires a building permit for most roof replacements to ensure the work meets local building codes and safety standards. Reputable roofing contractors handle the entire permitting process on your behalf, including application submission, fee payment, and scheduling required inspections. Working with a licensed contractor protects you from fines and ensures your new roof complies with wind-uplift ratings, fire codes, and manufacturer installation guidelines. Always verify that your roofer is properly licensed and insured before work begins.
