What our customers say

Jason inspected our roof. He went out of his way to address a couple of issues we had and informed us of the cost to repair the ones remaining. Very pleased with his service!

Jason Shoupe did my roof inspection this morning. He was on time, professional and took his time to explain his findings. I like that he was able to prioritize how he would fix things so that I wasn’t overwhelmed. He took pictures so that I could see what repairs were needed.

We have used HEP in the past for plumbing and also some roof issues. Because of this, they offered us a free roof inspection. The tech (Tim Lawson) that came out was on time (actually a little earlier than expected), was very helpful and knowledgeable. He took his time to explain the repairs that we will be needing to our roof, offered affordable pricing and was very professional. I would recommend this company as they are fair in price and have knowledgeable, friendly , professional employees. Thanks HEP and Tim Lawson.

Tim Lawson and Matt Williams performed a thorough review of the roof at my condo, gave me my options and I chose one. They performed their work that day in a fine manner.

We (Leroy and Helen Queen, my parents) had our leaky roof replaced by HEP at the end of July 2019. We had a wonderful experience from start to finish: from Joshua who recommended HEP for our roofing needs, to Jason our Sales Rep who measured and then inspected the finished work, to Chris in the office who helped us with the financing, to the crew of men that came out and did a marvelous job removing, installing, and then tidying up afterwards. We were mightily impressed; they worked so quickly. We highly recommend giving HEP a call for your roofing needs based on our own experience with them. They all worked really hard and quickly to get us a new roof; something we very greatly appreciate. Thanks HEP!

Ruben was excellent when I was having drain issues. He was quick, explained everything throughly, and made sure I knew what my options were. A wonderful experience I just put an offer in on a home and wanted someone to check the place out for me and HEP was there! Not only was every technician that came out friendly, but they made sure I understood everything that was being told to me! They gave me clear and honest opinions about my AC, Roof, and electrical. They told me what was wrong, how to fix it, an approximate on how much it would be and even advice to make sure I get the most out of my repair life. I'm a first time home buyer and they made me feel confident enough about the condition of my home to be able to make a sound decision on it. I'll recommend them to everyone I know!

HEP was prompt in getting our job estimated and starting work. We had them replace a patio roof and perform some other minor repairs on the roof. They came out on Saturday, and Jason walked through everything, explaining the rationale behind his recommendations. They were exactly in line with existing recommendations from our home inspection, so I had confidence that he was giving his honest opinion and not just trying to upsell. Due to a clerical error, they removed our entire roof by accident, but replaced it at no cost. They immediately notified me when this happened and got it rectified right away. They were honest and transparent through the whole process. After the completion of the work, I notified them of a couple of punch list items and they knocked them out quickly without me having to pester or make a scene like you would with a less reputable contractor. This is the kind of contractor that you keep around. Reliable, easy to contact, responsive, and honest. I am a very independent DIYer, but if I can't do it, my first call will definitely be to HEP. . Thanks Jason and everyone at HEP.

FAQs

What types of roofing materials are best suited for homes in Calhoun, GA?

Because Calhoun experiences hot, humid summers and occasional severe storms, asphalt shingles, metal roofing, and architectural shingles are the most popular choices. Asphalt shingles remain cost-effective and easy to repair, while metal roofs provide superior longevity, energy efficiency, and wind resistance—ideal for Georgia’s stormy weather. Architectural shingles combine the aesthetics of high-end materials with greater durability than standard 3-tab shingles. Our team can help you compare look, lifespan, and budget to choose the optimal material for your property.

How long does a typical roof replacement take in Calhoun?

For an average single-family home, a complete tear-off and replacement usually takes one to three days, depending on roof size, pitch, material, and weather conditions. Metal or specialty shingles may add an extra day for detail work. We always schedule projects during stable weather windows and provide daily progress updates so you know exactly when your new roof will be finished.

Do I need a permit for roof repair or replacement in Calhoun?

Yes. The City of Calhoun and Gordon County require a building permit for any roof replacement and most structural repairs. As a licensed roofing contractor, we handle all permitting, inspections, and code compliance on your behalf. This ensures your new roof meets local building codes, wind-load requirements, and manufacturer installation standards.

How much does a roof replacement cost in the Calhoun area?

Costs vary based on material, roof size, and complexity. In Calhoun, asphalt shingle replacements typically range from $4.50 to $7.50 per square foot installed, while metal roofing averages $7.00 to $12.00 per square foot. Architectural shingles fall in between. We offer free, no-obligation inspections and written estimates that break down material, labor, permits, and disposal so you can make an informed decision.

Can you help with insurance claims for storm damage?

Absolutely. Calhoun sees its share of hail and high-wind events. If you suspect storm damage, we provide a complimentary inspection, detailed photo report, and assistance filing your claim. We meet with the adjuster, advocate for full code-compliant repairs, and coordinate the entire restoration process to ensure you receive the coverage you’re entitled to with minimal stress.

How can I extend the life of my roof in Calhoun’s climate?

Regular maintenance is key. We recommend annual or semi-annual inspections—especially after severe weather—to catch small issues before they escalate. Keep gutters clear to prevent water backup, trim overhanging branches to reduce moss growth and shingle abrasion, and ensure attic ventilation meets code to minimize heat buildup. Enrolling in our RoofCare maintenance plan provides scheduled inspections, minor repairs, and priority service, adding years to your roof’s lifespan.
