What our customers say

Spoke with Jason and was very happy. This was an estimate for roofing repairs, Jason was very polite and professional. He took the time to point out any issues he found and had a valid explanation for each concern. Jason answered all my questions and I feel he was honest and didn't sugar coat or inflate any concern. We have used Hep in the past for plumbing and was happy with that too. We have another estimate to get but its going to be hard to be the confidence I feel in Jason after our talk. We had some interior ceiling repair also by Tom and Jimmy, excellent job. Impressed with the texture matching.

The service was very fast. We had a technician out to check our furnace and he kindly informed us they no longer make the parts that we would need, which is understandable as the unit was manufactured in 1997. They were able to get a team out the very next day to install a new HVAC unit and furnace, these gentlemen worked extremely hard from daylight to dark finally finishing up around 9 PM. They had everything up and running and we’re so quiet and thorough. I barely knew they were there! We did have an issue with the unit cooling after start up. I called the following morning and had a technician out within a few hours that fixed the issue. Overall, the entire process was extremely easy, fast, and thorough. We have a roofing project to begin next week with this company as well and only expect great things going forward!

The Importance of “Roofing Done Right” in Harriman

In the lush landscape of Roane County, a sturdy roof is more than exterior décor—it is a shield against humid summers, sudden downpours, and seasonal temperature swings. Harriman homeowners and commercial property managers understand that a roof installed or repaired without strict adherence to best practices can transform an investment into an expensive liability. This is where HEP’s philosophy of “roofing done right” brings measurable value to Harriman residents who demand craftsmanship, longevity, and peace of mind.

Harriman’s Climate Challenges for Roofing Systems

  • High humidity levels that can accelerate mold and mildew growth
  • Frequent thunderstorms producing wind-driven rain
  • Seasonal temperature fluctuations that force roof decking and shingles to expand and contract
  • Occasional hail events causing impact damage
  • UV exposure that fatigues asphalt and membrane materials over time

Each of these climatic realities creates potential stress points on flashing, shingles, fasteners, and underlayment. A “good-enough” roof may satisfy curb-appeal checkboxes, yet fall short of withstanding Harriman’s multi-season weather profile. HEP’s roofing team counteracts local stressors through meticulous material selection, precise installation, and proactive maintenance guidelines.

The HEP Roofing Approach: Core Pillars of Excellence

A roof is only as reliable as the system supporting it. HEP structures every project around four core pillars that ensure “roofing done right” translates into tangible homeowner benefits.

1. Thorough Assessment and Planning

Before a single nail is driven, HEP technicians perform a survey that covers:

  • Attic ventilation evaluation
  • Moisture mapping with infrared imaging
  • Decking integrity checks for rot or delamination
  • Flashing and penetration inspection

These data points guide material selection, underlayment specifications, and fastening patterns tailored to the exact pitch, orientation, and weather exposure of each Harriman property.

2. Premium, Purpose-Matched Materials

HEP refuses one-size-fits-all supply lists. Instead, material packages are assembled to match roof design and budget without compromising resilience:

  • Architectural asphalt shingles for durability and dimensional depth
  • Metal panels coated with Kynar 500® for fade resistance
  • Synthetic or rubberized underlayments that outperform traditional felt
  • High-temperature ice and water shield in valleys and eaves
  • Corrosion-resistant fasteners made of stainless steel or hot-dipped galvanization

3. Precision Installation by Certified Craftsmen

Credentialed roofers and quality control supervisors ensure every step meets or exceeds manufacturer guidelines. HEP crews follow:

  • Six-nail shingle patterns for enhanced wind uplift resistance
  • Proper starter strip alignment to prevent edge blow-offs
  • Step flashing integration at sidewalls instead of relying on caulk alone
  • Ridge vent installations trimmed for balanced attic airflow
  • String-line alignment checks to keep courses arrow-straight

4. Post-Install Validation & Ongoing Support

Upon completion, every roof undergoes an 18-point audit that verifies:

  • Seamless flashing transitions
  • Uniform fastener depth
  • Correct shingle overhang at drip edges
  • Consistent ridge cap fastening torque

Owners receive documentation of inspection findings and maintenance tips to protect their investment. This lifecycle-minded service cements HEP’s promise that “roofing done right” extends well beyond install day.

Roofing Services Tailored to Harriman Properties

Complete Roof Replacement

When storm damage or advanced aging renders a roof irreparable, HEP delivers full tear-offs, substrate remediation, and fresh installations engineered for multiple decades of service.

Targeted Roof Repair

Not every issue demands replacement. HEP pinpoints localized leaks, missing shingles, and flashing lapses, applying restorative fixes that preserve roof integrity while delaying broader capital expenditure.

Preventive Maintenance Programs

Aging roofs in Harriman encounter leaf debris, pollen accumulation, and thermal cycling. HEP’s maintenance schedules include:

  • Semi-annual roof surface cleaning
  • Sealant renewal around penetrations
  • Gutter debris extraction to maintain water flow
  • Ventilation assessment to mitigate heat buildup

Storm Damage Assessment

After hail or high winds sweep across the Cumberland Plateau, HEP specialists document damage through photographic evidence, moisture readings, and shingle granule analysis—arming property owners with objective data for insurance claims.

Material Spotlights: Options That Excel in Harriman

Architectural Asphalt Shingles

HEP leverages multi-laminate shingles rated for up to 130 mph wind resistance—ideal for Harriman’s gusty spring storms. Granule blends incorporate algae-resistant copper particles, preserving curb appeal even during humid summers.

Standing Seam Metal

For homeowners seeking a modern aesthetic with long-term return on investment, standing seam panels fabricated from 24-gauge steel offer:

  • Reflective pigments that reduce attic heat gain
  • Hidden fasteners eliminating potential leak paths
  • Expansion clips accommodating thermal cycling

TPO and EPDM Membranes

Commercial flat roofs in Harriman benefit from white TPO’s solar reflectance and EPDM’s puncture resistance. HEP technicians weld seams with calibrated hot-air equipment and secure edges using manufacturer-approved termination bars.

Ventilation and Insulation: The Unsung Heroes

A well-constructed roof can underperform if attic airflow and thermal barriers are inadequate. HEP integrates ventilation analysis into every roofing estimate, verifying:

  • Proper soffit-to-ridge vent balance for continuous convection
  • Unobstructed baffles preserving air channels above insulation
  • Adequate R-value to reduce ice-dam formation and lower HVAC loads

Flashing: Where Most Leaks Begin—and End

Even premium shingles cannot compensate for poor flashing. HEP’s flashing protocol includes:

  • 26-gauge kick-out diverters at roof-to-wall intersections
  • Pre-bent step flashing installed under each shingle course
  • Counterflashing cut into masonry joints, not merely surface caulked
  • Pipe boots with UV-stable collars resisting cracking

The Role of Underlayment in a Harriman Roof

Underlayment is the final guard against moisture infiltration. HEP opts for:

  • Synthetic underlayment boasting higher tear strength
  • Peel-and-stick membranes at eaves to combat ice dams
  • Overlap patterns aligned with prevailing wind direction to minimize wind-driven rain intrusion

Safeguarding Curb Appeal and Property Value

A roof embodies up to 40% of a home’s visible exterior. HEP’s color coordination experts assist Harriman homeowners in selecting shingle or panel hues that complement siding, brickwork, and architectural style. This design-oriented approach:

  • Elevates neighborhood aesthetics
  • Supports higher appraised values
  • Reflects solar radiation, reducing cooling demand

Sustainability and Waste Reduction Practices

HEP aligns modern roofing with environmental stewardship by:

  • Recycling asphalt shingles into road-paving aggregate
  • Recovering metal scraps for re-smelting
  • Employing low-VOC asphalt primers and adhesives
  • Strategically timing tear-offs to avoid rainfall-driven debris dispersion
