What our customers say

HEP was prompt in getting our job estimated and starting work. We had them replace a patio roof and perform some other minor repairs on the roof. They came out on Saturday, and Jason walked through everything, explaining the rationale behind his recommendations. They were exactly in line with existing recommendations from our home inspection, so I had confidence that he was giving his honest opinion and not just trying to upsell. Due to a clerical error, they removed our entire roof by accident, but replaced it at no cost. They immediately notified me when this happened and got it rectified right away. They were honest and transparent through the whole process. After the completion of the work, I notified them of a couple of punch list items and they knocked them out quickly without me having to pester or make a scene like you would with a less reputable contractor. This is the kind of contractor that you keep around. Reliable, easy to contact, responsive, and honest. I am a very independent DIYer, but if I can't do it, my first call will definitely be to HEP. . Thanks Jason and everyone at HEP.

The mgr. who had come out to evaluate the job came back to ensure everything he told us was to be done would be done. He checked out the job and we felt secure knowing everything was checked on to have been done correctly and what wasn't was redone right. Would definately reccommend Hep for roof work.

We (Leroy and Helen Queen, my parents) had our leaky roof replaced by HEP at the end of July 2019. We had a wonderful experience from start to finish: from Joshua who recommended HEP for our roofing needs, to Jason our Sales Rep who measured and then inspected the finished work, to Chris in the office who helped us with the financing, to the crew of men that came out and did a marvelous job removing, installing, and then tidying up afterwards. We were mightily impressed; they worked so quickly. We highly recommend giving HEP a call for your roofing needs based on our own experience with them. They all worked really hard and quickly to get us a new roof; something we very greatly appreciate. Thanks HEP!

Comprehensive Roof Repair in Luttrell by HEP

A solid, weather-tight roof is one of the most important components of any property in Luttrell. HEP, a locally trusted roofing team, delivers professional roof repair solutions designed specifically for the region’s climate and architectural character. From minor shingle replacement to complex structural corrections, the company’s certified technicians employ time-tested methods, premium materials, and rigorous safety standards. Homeowners and property managers throughout Luttrell rely on HEP roofing expertise to extend roof life, improve energy efficiency, and maintain visual appeal—all while ensuring code compliance and long-term durability.

Understanding the Unique Roofing Needs of Luttrell Homes

Climate Challenges

Luttrell experiences cycles of summer heat, heavy rainfall, and occasional winter freezes. Temperature fluctuations cause roofing materials to expand and contract, leading to:

  • Thermal cracking in asphalt shingles
  • Warping or separation around flashing zones
  • Accelerated granule loss due to UV exposure

HEP technicians analyze meteorological data and regional building codes to select repair materials that resist ultraviolet degradation, repel moisture, and endure freeze-thaw cycles.

Architectural Diversity

Homes in Luttrell range from modern ranch styles to century-old farmhouses. Roof slopes, dormers, and valleys differ dramatically from one property to the next, requiring a tailored repair strategy. HEP crews are trained to adapt craftsmanship to:

  • Steep-slope gables that demand specialized harness systems
  • Low-slope sections where membrane integrity is critical
  • Complex intersections between roofs, chimneys, and walls

HEP Roof Repair Process

Detailed Roof Inspection

Every project begins with a meticulous inspection that covers:

  • Attic spaces for hidden leaks, mold, or insulation gaps
  • Exterior roof planes for cracked shingles, soft decking, and nail pops
  • Flashing points around vents, skylights, and chimneys

Technicians document each observation with photos and notes, creating a transparent record that guides the repair plan and supports future maintenance.

Material Selection Tailored to Luttrell Properties

After inspection, HEP recommends materials that align with a home’s existing roofing system, budget goals, and longevity expectations. Considerations include:

  • Compatibility with the current shingle profile or metal type
  • Reflective coatings to lessen attic heat in summer
  • Impact-resistant shingles for areas prone to hail events

Precision Repair Techniques

During repair, crews follow manufacturer specifications for nail spacing, sealant application, and underlayment overlap. Key practices include:

  • Removing damaged shingles in full courses to avoid staggered seams
  • Reinforcing roof decking with exterior-grade fasteners
  • Installing ice-and-water shields in vulnerable valleys

Post-Repair Quality Assurance

Upon completion, HEP performs a second roof walk to verify:

  • Correct alignment of replacement shingles
  • Secure placement of flashing and ridge caps
  • Absence of debris, nails, and recyclable waste around the property

A detailed project report is delivered to the homeowner, outlining the scope of work and maintenance guidelines.

Common Roof Issues Addressed by HEP in Luttrell

Shingle Damage

Thermal cycling, wind uplift, and debris impact can crack or dislodge shingles. HEP restores protective layers and ensures consistent color blending across repaired sections.

Flashing Failures

Improperly seated or corroded metal flashing around protrusions can cause chronic leaks. HEP fabricates custom flashing on-site, shaping galvanized or aluminum sheets to fit each penetration precisely.

Ventilation Problems

Inadequate airflow beneath the roof deck leads to moisture buildup and premature aging. HEP installs ridge vents, soffit vents, and attic fans to promote balanced ventilation.

Gutter Integration and Edge Protection

Clogged or misaligned gutters allow water to pool along roof edges. Technicians adjust gutter pitch, add drip edge flashing, and ensure downspouts channel water safely away from foundations.

Before commencing structural repairs, HEP coordinates with municipal offices to:

  • Submit construction drawings and load calculations
  • Schedule inspections at key project milestones
  • Obtain final completion certificates confirming code adherence

Wind and Fire Ratings

As part of building resilience, HEP selects roof assemblies that meet or exceed:

  • ASTM wind-uplift standards relevant to East Tennessee gust patterns
  • Class A fire ratings to slow flame spread in rural zones where controlled burns are common

Adhering to these provisions not only preserves safety but also simplifies future real estate transactions by providing clear records of compliant upgrades.

Role of Drone Technology in Roof Assessment

High-Resolution Imaging

HEP pilots FAA-registered drones equipped with 4K cameras to capture detail otherwise inaccessible from ground level. This high-resolution imagery identifies:

  • Subtle granule displacement indicative of aging
  • Warped flashing behind chimneys
  • Gutter alignment issues hidden by landscaping

Safety Enhancements

Using drones reduces the need for initial ladder climbs on steep or slippery surfaces. Benefits include:

  • Less time spent on elevated edges
  • Faster data collection for quicker repair quotes
  • Minimized disturbance to fragile roof coverings during assessment

Analytical Software Integration

Captured data feeds into software that creates:

  • Photogrammetric roof models for precise measurement
  • Heat maps pinpointing moisture-rich zones
  • Time-lapse overlays tracking roof health across seasons

Integrating Roof Repair with Exterior Upgrades

Combining roof repair with supplementary exterior improvements maximizes both aesthetic impact and construction efficiency. Typical bundle options include:

  • Installing seamless gutters concurrently to match new drip edge colors
  • Replacing soffit and fascia boards for cohesive curb appeal
  • Adding attic insulation when decking is exposed, reducing future labor duplication

Bundled upgrades often shorten overall project timelines, reduce labor costs in auxiliary trades, and create a unified exterior that elevates property value throughout Luttrell’s diverse neighborhoods.
