What our customers say

We have used HEP in the past for plumbing and also some roof issues. Because of this, they offered us a free roof inspection. The tech (Tim Lawson) that came out was on time (actually a little earlier than expected), was very helpful and knowledgeable. He took his time to explain the repairs that we will be needing to our roof, offered affordable pricing and was very professional. I would recommend this company as they are fair in price and have knowledgeable, friendly , professional employees. Thanks HEP and Tim Lawson.

Ruben was excellent when I was having drain issues. He was quick, explained everything throughly, and made sure I knew what my options were. A wonderful experience I just put an offer in on a home and wanted someone to check the place out for me and HEP was there! Not only was every technician that came out friendly, but they made sure I understood everything that was being told to me! They gave me clear and honest opinions about my AC, Roof, and electrical. They told me what was wrong, how to fix it, an approximate on how much it would be and even advice to make sure I get the most out of my repair life. I'm a first time home buyer and they made me feel confident enough about the condition of my home to be able to make a sound decision on it. I'll recommend them to everyone I know!

HEP was prompt in getting our job estimated and starting work. We had them replace a patio roof and perform some other minor repairs on the roof. They came out on Saturday, and Jason walked through everything, explaining the rationale behind his recommendations. They were exactly in line with existing recommendations from our home inspection, so I had confidence that he was giving his honest opinion and not just trying to upsell. Due to a clerical error, they removed our entire roof by accident, but replaced it at no cost. They immediately notified me when this happened and got it rectified right away. They were honest and transparent through the whole process. After the completion of the work, I notified them of a couple of punch list items and they knocked them out quickly without me having to pester or make a scene like you would with a less reputable contractor. This is the kind of contractor that you keep around. Reliable, easy to contact, responsive, and honest. I am a very independent DIYer, but if I can't do it, my first call will definitely be to HEP. . Thanks Jason and everyone at HEP.

Due to a miscommunication I need to apologize for a negative review I left. Hep didn't call codes, but I imagine that codes inspector is working himself to the bone, and instead of hearing "rough-in inspection" I heard "complaint" and I am so very sorry I was so reactive. It's been over a year since the work was done and we've had zero leaks! Job well done y'all!

HEP is by far one of the best companies, of any kind, I've ever dealt with. We've had HEP replace our HVAC system and just signed contracts with them for some major plumbing repair and a new roof. In our experience with HEP, we've found that they do everything, and they do everything really well. Which is great for us because we don't have to waste any time going through the giant pain process of finding contractors and then finding out if we can trust them. With HEP, the whole experience is like working with your brothers and sisters. Everyone we've met has gone out of their way to make us feel like we're part of their family. To me, the kind of quality service you get from that kind of a business relationship is worth its weight in gold. Thank you, HEP!

The Strength of Metal Roofing in Fayetteville

Metal roofing is more than an architectural trend in Fayetteville; it is a long-term investment in durability, energy efficiency, and property value. Thanks to the mild winters, humid summers, and periodic severe storms common to Northwest Arkansas, a typical shingle roof faces punishing temperature swings, wind uplift, hail impact, and flying debris. HEP focuses on metal roofing to give homeowners and business owners a resilient shield that stands up to local weather while enhancing curb appeal.

Why Fayetteville Properties Benefit from Metal Roofing

When a traditional asphalt roof reaches the end of its service life, metal becomes a logical upgrade. Fayetteville’s climate introduces a unique set of stressors:

  • Heavy spring downpours
  • Intense UV exposure in late summer
  • Occasional ice storms
  • High winds during seasonal weather fronts

A metal system installed by HEP mitigates each of those challenges through a combination of interlocking panels, reflective coatings, and structural fastening. The result is a roof that retains its integrity and appearance for decades.

Key Advantages Delivered by HEP Metal Roofing

Superior Lifespan
Many asphalt roofs require major repairs or full replacement every 15–20 years. A properly installed metal roof by HEP regularly surpasses 40 years of service.

Energy Savings
Reflective pigments and specialized coatings deflect solar heat, reducing attic temperatures. Homeowners in Fayetteville frequently notice lower cooling loads during the scorching July–August stretch.

Low Maintenance
HEP’s standing seam and ribbed panel systems form a tight barrier that resists moss, algae, and shingle granule loss. Routine inspections rather than frequent patch jobs become the norm.

Fire Resistance
Metal carries a Class A fire rating—the highest standard—providing peace of mind when wildfire warnings or neighborhood brush fires occur.

Storm Protection
High-strength fasteners, concealed clips, and engineered seams combine to deliver wind ratings exceeding many local code requirements, vital in a region where sudden gusts can exceed 60 mph.

HEP’s Metal Roofing Process in Detail

Thorough Roof Inspection

Every project begins with a multi-point inspection. HEP roofing specialists climb onto the existing roof deck, document any structural deflection, and evaluate underlayment conditions. They also check ventilation pathways, gutter alignment, and flashing around penetrations. This meticulous approach ensures the new metal system integrates seamlessly with the home’s existing envelope.

Material Selection Based on Fayetteville Needs

Metal roofing is not a one-size-fits-all solution. HEP guides property owners through several profiles:

  • Standing seam
  • 5V crimp
  • Corrugated exposed-fastener panels
  • Metal shingles and shakes

For Fayetteville’s mixed architectural landscape—everything from Craftsman bungalows around Wilson Park to modern farmhouses on the city’s outskirts—HEP helps select colors and panel styles that complement each structure.

Precision Fabrication

Many panel runs are custom-cut on site. Mobile roll-forming allows HEP technicians to create continuous lengths, eliminating transversal seams and reducing leak potential. Trim pieces, ridge caps, and valley pans are fabricated to the exact pitch and length of the roof, ensuring a snug, watertight fit.

Expert Installation Techniques

  1. High-temperature synthetic underlayment is applied for superior vapor control.
  2. Self-sealing butyl tape is positioned along critical seams.
  3. Starter strips are fastened with stainless steel screws to prevent galvanic reaction.
  4. Panels are set from eave to ridge, with concealed clips permitting thermal movement.
  5. Ridge vents are topped with color-matched flashing to blend aesthetics and function.

Throughout the process, HEP adheres to manufacturer specifications and local Fayetteville building codes, ensuring wind uplift resistance, proper edge clearances, and balanced attic ventilation.

Metal Roofing Styles Popular in Fayetteville

Standing Seam Metal Roofs

A defining feature is its continuous vertical legs and concealed fasteners. The clean lines often suit contemporary homes near the University of Arkansas campus. Standing seam systems installed by HEP boast:

  • Raised seams that shed water rapidly
  • Fewer exposed elements, lowering maintenance
  • Compatibility with solar panel clamps for future photovoltaic integration

Exposed-Fastener Panels

Homes with wide roof spans or agricultural outbuildings on Fayetteville’s outskirts often opt for exposed-fastener panels. Their benefits include:

  • Cost-efficient material usage
  • Faster installation on large planes
  • Rugged appearance for rustic or farmhouse styles

HEP utilizes fortified screw fasteners with neoprene washers, and technicians torque each fastener to the correct depth, avoiding compression that can reduce washer life.

Metal Shingles and Shakes

Some neighborhoods place strict covenants on roofing aesthetics. For those zones, HEP offers stamped metal shingles in patterns that emulate cedar shakes, slate, or traditional asphalt. Property owners gain the sought-after classic look with the performance advantages of steel or aluminum.

Metal Roof Coatings and Finishes

HEP specifies high-performance coatings engineered for long-term color retention:

  • PVDF (Polyvinylidene Fluoride) paint systems defy chalking and fading, critical in Fayetteville’s high UV index months.
  • SMP (Silicone-modified Polyester) is a robust mid-tier option for barns, sheds, and garages.

Available color palettes range from earthy browns to vibrant reds that match Razorback spirit, allowing homeowners to express personality while aligning with neighborhood standards.

Ventilation and Insulation Considerations

A metal roof is only as effective as the attic environment beneath it. HEP evaluates:

  • Intake vents at soffits
  • Exhaust vents at ridges or gables
  • Existing insulation R-values

Upgrading ventilation works hand-in-hand with the reflective surfaces of a metal roof to maximize energy savings. Moisture control also prevents condensation that could compromise sheathing or foster mold growth.

Metal Roof Flashing and Accessory Integration

Proper flashing is a defining difference between an average roof and an HEP roof. Crews custom-craft:

  • Chimney saddles
  • Skylight kits
  • Wall transition pans
  • Valley flashings

Each component is mechanically hemmed to avoid raw edges, and compatible sealants are applied sparingly to maintain a clean appearance. The finished system not only withstands wind-driven rain but also handles Fayetteville’s occasional snow events without ice damming.

Common Fayetteville Roofing Concerns Addressed by Metal Systems

Hail Resistance

The Ozarks region can witness hailstones capable of shredding shingles. Steel and aluminum panels installed by HEP bear UL 2218 Class 4 impact ratings, minimizing cosmetic dents and preventing punctures.

Wind Uplift

Neighborhoods atop elevated ridges outside Fayetteville city limits experience strong gusts. Clip-lock standing seam panels tested to over 140 mph provide assurance during severe thunderstorms.

Fire Protection

A metal roof’s non-combustible surface resists ember penetration. Homeowners near tree-lined ravines appreciate the peace of mind during the drier autumn season.

Sustainability

Metal roofing contains a high percentage of recycled content and is itself 100 percent recyclable at end of life. This aligns with Fayetteville’s commitment to environmental stewardship and long-term municipal sustainability goals.

Integrating Solar Panels with Metal Roofing

Fayetteville experiences over 210 sunny days annually—an ideal environment for rooftop solar. Standing seam roofs installed by HEP offer easy clamp-on mounting without penetrating the panels. This preserves warranties and maintains watertight integrity. Exposed-fastener panels can also accept specialized brackets sealed through rib peaks, ensuring reliable solar deployment.

Snow Management on Metal Roofs

While Fayetteville’s snowfalls are typically modest, sudden snow-squall accumulations can occur. HEP installs optional snow guards or retention bars, particularly on steeper slopes, to control sliding snow that could impact landscaping or gutters. These accessories are color-matched and mechanically fastened to handle freeze-thaw cycles common in late winter.

Integrating Gutters and Downspouts

A metal roof’s slick surface accelerates water runoff. HEP analyzes gutter capacity, recommending oversized troughs where necessary to handle increased flow rates. Proper splash blocks and downspout extensions divert water away from foundations, safeguarding crawl spaces and basements in Fayetteville’s clay-rich soils.

Roof Deck Preparation and Structural Reinforcement

Occasionally an aging deck requires partial re-sheathing before metal installation. HEP evaluates:

  • Plywood delamination
  • Nail withdrawal from historic movement
  • Rafter spacing compliance with modern load codes

When needed, crews reinforce rafters or install new sheathing to supply a firm, smooth substrate. This attention to detail protects the long-term performance of the finished metal roof.

Corrosion Mitigation in Humid Climates

Fayetteville’s humidity occasionally surpasses 90 percent. HEP applies:

  • Barrier membranes in valleys
  • Galvanic isolation washers between dissimilar metals
  • Proper edge hemming to prevent cut-edge corrosion

These practices ensure metal longevity even in damp conditions.

Sound Dampening Techniques

Some homeowners worry about rain noise. HEP addresses acoustics by:

  • Installing high-density underlayment
  • Utilizing vented ridge caps to equalize attic pressure
  • Adding optional rigid foam between panel and deck

Together these measures reduce metallic resonance, resulting in interior sound levels comparable to shingle roofs.

Comprehensive Roof Warranty Support

HEP partners with leading metal manufacturers to provide multi-decade finish warranties on paint systems, plus additional coverage for substrate integrity. Proper registration and documentation handled by HEP offer property owners confidence in their investment.

Seasonal Maintenance Recommendations

Spring Checks

  • Inspect for debris accumulation in valleys after early storms
  • Verify gutters are clear ahead of rainy season

Summer Surveillance

  • Monitor attic temperatures and ensure ventilation pathways remain free of bird nests
  • Evaluate sealant beads around vents, replacing if UV degradation is apparent

Autumn Preparation

  • Remove fallen leaves to prevent moisture traps
  • Confirm snow guards remain firmly fastened before the first freeze

Winter Vigilance

  • Brush light snow from solar panels if applicable
  • Look for ice buildup near north-facing eaves and report any abnormal cycles to HEP for assessment

Enhancing Curb Appeal with Metal Roofing

A metal roof’s crisp lines enhance architectural character. Whether the property features gables, dormers, or a wrap-around porch, matching roof accessories contribute to a cohesive aesthetic. Popular design tactics include:

  • Contrasting color gutters for a bold outline
  • Decorative ridge finials on Victorian-style homes
  • Matte black standing seam paired with cedar accents for modern farmhouse flair

HEP coordinates color samples onsite so owners can visualize final results under Fayetteville’s natural lighting.

Insurance Considerations for Metal Roofing

Because metal roofing delivers superior impact and fire resistance, many insurers classify it in lower risk tiers. While policies differ, property owners often enjoy premium reductions after switching from asphalt. HEP supplies documentation certifying material class ratings that support potential policy adjustments.

Metal Roofing for Commercial Properties

Low-Slope Applications

For warehouses and retail buildings with minimal pitch, HEP installs mechanically seamed metal panels with factory-applied sealant beads tested for water intrusion at pitches as low as 0.5:12.

Architectural Panels for Storefronts

Shallow canopies, mansards, and façades gain contemporary style with flush-panel metal. These elements elevate brand presence along busy Fayetteville corridors such as College Avenue and MLK Jr. Boulevard.

Sustainable Roofing Strategy

Commercial entities pursuing LEED certification or Fayetteville’s own energy initiatives benefit from metal roofing’s recyclable nature and solar-ready surface, aligning operational objectives with community sustainability targets.

Storm Damage Assessment and Metal Roof Restoration

HEP maintains a responsive team trained to evaluate post-storm conditions. Even though metal resists severe weather well, dents or compromised fasteners can occur:

  • Crews inspect panel alignment and fastener tension
  • Touch-up paint is color-matched to preserve appearance
  • Deformed panels are replaced sectionally, avoiding full-roof tear-off

Timely restoration preserves warranty validity and maintains the roof’s aesthetic integrity.

Metal Roofing and Architectural Guidelines

Many Fayetteville subdivisions enforce design covenants. HEP navigates local guidelines, presenting board-approved panel profiles and color samples. Ensuring compliance avoids delays and fosters neighborhood cohesion.

Fire Escape and Safety Provisions for Metal Roofing

When skylights or vent pipes double as fire escape routes, HEP reinforces framing around those penetrations. Non-skid panel coatings are applied to walkable zones, and roof hatches are integrated where code mandates secondary egress points.

Integration of Rooftop Accessories

  • Satellite dish mounts
  • HVAC mini-split condensers on custom platforms
  • Skylight sun tunnels

HEP coordinates accessory placement before panel installation to maintain waterproofing integrity and visual symmetry.

Addressing Expansion and Contraction

Metal responds to temperature swings. Fayetteville’s daily highs can rise from mid-40s in January to upper 90s in August. HEP:

  • Incorporates floating clips allowing controlled panel movement
  • Spaces fasteners according to manufacturer thermal charts
  • Utilizes slotted holes on ridge terminations

These protocols prevent oil-canning and fastener back-out over time.

Project Timeline Expectations

Smaller residential roofs often complete within a single week—from tear-off to final trim—weather permitting. Larger estate homes or commercial facilities may extend to multi-week schedules. HEP maintains a clean work zone throughout, using debris nets and magnetic sweepers to collect metal shavings for safety.

Environmental Stewardship Practices

  • Recycle old metal scraps and pallets
  • Dispose of asphalt shingles at approved facilities
  • Use water-based sealants with low volatile organic compound (VOC) content

These measures align with Fayetteville’s reputation as a forward-thinking, eco-conscious community.

Neighborhood Harmony During Installation

HEP crews mitigate disruption by:

  • Starting saw operations during mid-morning hours
  • Parking equipment to preserve street access
  • Providing daily site clean-ups to prevent windblown debris

Homeowners associations appreciate the professional courtesy extended to neighbors.

Future-Proofing with HEP Metal Roofing

A roof should not merely solve today’s issues; it must also anticipate tomorrow’s needs. With solar-ready standing seams, high-reflectivity coatings, and robust warranties, HEP positions Fayetteville properties to thrive amid evolving energy codes, insurance standards, and architectural trends.

Recap of Core Benefits

  • 40-plus years expected service life
  • Class 4 hail impact resistance
  • Class A fire rating
  • Substantial reduction in cooling costs
  • Minimal maintenance requirements
