What does your roof-repair warranty actually cover?
Our Rockford roof-repair warranty has two parts: a 100 % workmanship guarantee and the manufacturer’s material warranty on the products we install (shingles, flashing, sealants, etc.). If a leak, blow-off, or related defect occurs because we did not install or seal something correctly, we will furnish the labor and replacement materials at no cost to you. If a shingle or accessory fails prematurely because of a factory defect, the manufacturer supplies the replacement product and we provide the labor to install it, also at no charge during the warranty term.
How long does the roof-repair warranty last?
Our standard workmanship warranty on repairs is 5 years from the completion date, which is longer than the 1- to 2-year industry norm in Rockford. In addition, the Owens Corning and GAF materials we typically use carry limited lifetime or 25- to 30-year prorated manufacturer warranties. We document all start and end dates on the final invoice and register the material warranty for you so coverage begins immediately.
Are there any exclusions or situations that void the warranty?
Yes. Like every roofing warranty, ours excludes damage caused by acts of God (tornadoes, hail larger than 1¼", winds above 60 mph), foot traffic, subsequent work by other contractors, and lack of routine maintenance (clearing gutters, removing debris, etc.). Using unapproved cleaners or coatings, erecting satellite dishes through the repair area, or failing to pay the original invoice in full will also void coverage. All exclusions are listed in writing before you authorize the repair.
How do I file a warranty claim if I notice a problem?
Simply call our dedicated warranty line at 815-XXX-XXXX or complete the online claim form on our website. We will schedule an on-site inspection within 2 business days for active leaks and within 5 business days for non-emergencies. If the issue is covered, we will make the repair within 10 business days at no cost. You do not have to contact the shingle manufacturer first; we handle all manufacturer paperwork for you.
Is the warranty transferable if I sell my Rockford home?
Yes. Both the workmanship warranty and the underlying manufacturer material warranty may be transferred once within the first 5 years at no charge. The new homeowner simply completes our transfer form within 60 days of closing. Transferability adds resale value because buyers know the repair area is still protected by a reputable local contractor.
Do I need to schedule regular roof maintenance to keep the warranty valid?
We do ask homeowners to perform or authorize basic annual maintenance, such as gutter cleaning, removal of branches or debris from the roof surface, and visual checks after major storms. You can do this yourself or enroll in our low-cost RoofCare plan. Failure to correct obvious neglect—like clogged gutters causing ice dams—can void coverage, but routine wear and tear is expected and fully covered when maintenance is up to date.
