FAQs

What types of warranties does Pioneer Roofing provide?

Pioneer Roofing offers two main warranty categories: (1) Manufacturer warranties that cover the roofing materials themselves and (2) Pioneer’s own workmanship warranty that covers the quality of our installation. Depending on the product line you select, manufacturer warranties may range from 25-year limited coverage to full lifetime protection, while our workmanship warranty is available in 10-, 15-, and 25-year terms.

How long does the standard warranty last, and can I extend it?

Our entry-level package includes a 10-year workmanship warranty and a 25-year limited material warranty. Homeowners can upgrade to extended coverage that provides 50-year non-prorated material protection and up to 25 years of workmanship coverage. Extended warranties require installing the full roofing system (underlayment, ventilation, flashing, and shingles) from the same manufacturer, which Pioneer will handle for you.

What exactly is covered under the manufacturer’s warranty versus the workmanship warranty?

Manufacturer warranties guard against product defects such as premature granule loss, blistering, or shingle delamination. They typically cover the cost of replacement materials and, on premium plans, a portion of labor. Pioneer’s workmanship warranty covers installation-related issues such as leaks at flashing points, improper fastening, or ventilation mistakes. If a leak or failure results from our labor, we will repair or replace the affected area at no cost within the warranty term.

Is my roofing warranty transferable if I sell the property?

Yes. Both manufacturer and Pioneer workmanship warranties are transferable one time within the first 10 years after installation. To transfer, simply notify Pioneer and the shingle manufacturer in writing within 60 days of closing. The new owner will receive the remaining term of the warranty, preserving the value of your investment and making your home more appealing to buyers.

What actions or conditions could void my roof warranty?

Common causes of warranty voidance include (1) improper alterations or repairs by non-certified contractors, (2) installation of satellite dishes, skylights, or solar panels that penetrate the roof without prior authorization, (3) inadequate attic ventilation or insulation leading to excessive heat and moisture, (4) failure to keep gutters clear of debris, and (5) storm damage not addressed promptly. Always contact Pioneer before having any work done on your roof to maintain continuous coverage.

How do I file a warranty claim, and what can I expect during the process?

Call or email our warranty department and provide photos or a brief description of the issue. We will schedule an on-site inspection within five business days. If the problem stems from workmanship, Pioneer will repair it within 14 days, weather permitting. If it appears to be a material defect, we will submit the necessary paperwork to the manufacturer and coordinate any replacement materials and labor. Throughout the process, you will receive regular status updates until the repair is complete.
