When Louisville storms roll in, homeowners need more than shingles—they need confidence that every nail, flashing, and seam was installed with care. HEP backs its craft with industry-leading workmanship warranties, ensuring that if any installation issue ever appears, the fix is on us, not on your wallet. That’s peace of mind you can feel even when the thunder rattles your windows, because you know the roof over your head was built—and guaranteed—by local experts who treat your home like their own.

Our promise goes beyond paperwork. From the moment our crews arrive, you’ll see an attention to detail that only decades of hands-on experience can provide. We photograph critical steps, perform multi-point inspections, and register every project so your coverage follows the house, not just the owner. It’s a commitment that adds tangible value and lasting protection to your investment, proving that when it comes to roofing, HEP’s workmanship warranty is as strong as the structures we install.

FAQs

What is a workmanship warranty, and how is it different from a manufacturer’s roofing warranty?

A workmanship warranty is the installer’s written promise that all labor on your roof was performed to industry standards and local Louisville building codes. If a leak or other problem arises because something was installed incorrectly—flashing, shingles, ventilation, fasteners, etc.—we fix it at no cost to you. A manufacturer’s warranty, by contrast, only covers factory defects in the roofing materials themselves. If the shingles crack prematurely because of a production flaw, that falls under the manufacturer; if they leak because they were nailed improperly, that is workmanship.

How long does your workmanship warranty last for residential roofs in Louisville?

We provide a 10-year workmanship warranty on asphalt shingle systems and a 5-year warranty on low-slope or flat membrane installations. During that period we will repair any leak or defect traced back to our installation free of charge, including labor, disposal, and replacement materials required to correct the issue.

What exactly is covered under the workmanship warranty?

Coverage includes all labor-related defects such as misaligned or under-driven nails, improper flashing around chimneys and walls, inadequate ventilation installation, poor underlayment placement, and faulty ridge or starter courses. If these errors lead to leaks, interior water stains, deck rot, or shingle blow-offs, we remedy the problem and any roofing materials we must remove to make the repair are replaced at no charge. Damage caused by storms, impact, fires, or homeowner alterations is not included—those events are handled either through insurance or the material manufacturer’s warranty.

Is the workmanship warranty transferable if I sell my Louisville home?

Yes. Our workmanship warranty transfers one time at no cost within the original warranty period. The new homeowner simply notifies us in writing within 60 days of closing, and we update the property file. A transferable warranty adds resale value because the buyer gains the same peace of mind you enjoyed.

How do I submit a claim, and how quickly will repairs be made?

Call our office or fill out the online service form. We schedule an inspection within 48 hours for urgent leaks, or within one week for non-emergencies. After confirming the issue is workmanship-related, most repairs are completed within 5–7 business days, weather permitting. All service visits and corrective work are performed at no cost to you during the warranty term.

Will Louisville’s severe weather—hail, heavy rains, or rapid temperature swings—void my workmanship warranty?

No. Normal Kentucky weather conditions, including hailstorms and freeze-thaw cycles, do not void the warranty. However, if the roof sustains physical damage from a hailstone impact or wind gust beyond 60 mph, that type of damage is classified as an "act of nature" and is normally filed through your homeowner’s insurance rather than the workmanship warranty. Once storm-related repairs are completed, the original workmanship coverage on unaffected areas remains in place for the remainder of the term.
