FAQs
What is a workmanship warranty and how is it different from a manufacturer’s warranty?
A workmanship warranty is the promise our Georgetown roofing team makes that all labor and installation practices meet or exceed local building codes and industry best-practice standards. If a leak or other roof problem arises because we installed something incorrectly, we come back and fix it at no cost to you. A manufacturer’s warranty, by contrast, covers defects in the roofing materials themselves—such as shingle granule loss or membrane failure—regardless of who installed them. In short, the workmanship warranty protects you from labor-related issues, while the manufacturer’s warranty protects you from material defects.
How long does your roofing workmanship warranty last for roof repairs in Georgetown?
For full roof replacements we provide a 10-year transferable workmanship warranty, and for stand-alone roof repairs we back our labor for a period of 2 years. Both terms begin on the date the work is completed and paid in full. If local code changes require additional improvements during a warranted repair, we will cover those labor costs as well.
What roof repair problems are covered under the workmanship warranty?
Any leak, blow-off, or installation-related defect that is directly attributable to our labor is covered. Typical examples include improperly sealed flashing, loose or missing shingles/tiles we installed, nail pops, ridge vent issues, and incorrect underlayment overlaps. If we touched it, fastened it, or sealed it, and it fails because of how we did the work, we will repair or replace that component free of charge during the warranty period.
What is not covered by the workmanship warranty?
Damage caused by extreme weather events (e.g., hail larger than 1" in diameter, tornadoes, or winds exceeding 60 mph), falling debris, foot traffic from other trades, animal activity, ponding water due to structural issues, or homeowner alterations is excluded. Normal aging of materials, manufacturer defects, and any pre-existing conditions we specifically noted before starting work are also outside the scope of the workmanship warranty. Those situations may be addressed by your homeowner’s insurance or the manufacturer’s material warranty.
How do I request service under the workmanship warranty if I suspect a roof issue?
Simply call our Georgetown office or submit a service request through our website along with photos or a brief description of the problem. We strive to schedule inspections within 48 hours. If the issue is confirmed as workmanship-related, our crew will make the repair promptly at no cost to you. If the problem is due to factors outside the warranty, we’ll provide a transparent estimate and, where applicable, help you start a manufacturer or insurance claim.
Can the workmanship warranty be transferred if I sell my Georgetown home?
Yes. Our 10-year workmanship warranty on full roof replacements is fully transferable one time within the original warranty period. To transfer, the original homeowner simply fills out a short form and notifies us within 30 days of closing. This added protection can enhance your home’s resale value because the new owner gains the same peace of mind about the quality of the roof installation.
