FAQs
What does your workmanship warranty cover for roof and gutter replacements in Huntland?
Our workmanship warranty guarantees that all labor involved in removing your old roof and gutters, installing new underlayment, shingles, flashing, downspouts, hangers, and any related trim is completed to industry and local building-code standards. If a leak, loose component, misalignment, or any other problem arises because of the way we installed your new roof or gutters—not because of material failure or storm damage—we will repair or replace the affected area at no cost to you during the warranty term.
How long is the workmanship warranty valid and can it be extended?
For Huntland homeowners, our standard workmanship warranty lasts 10 years from the date of final inspection. Because we are a certified installer with several shingle manufacturers, you may qualify for extended workmanship protection (up to 25 years) when you choose select premium roofing systems. At your request, we will review upgrade options and register any eligible extended warranty on your behalf before work begins.
How does the workmanship warranty differ from the material or manufacturer warranty?
A manufacturer’s warranty covers defects in the roofing or gutter materials themselves—such as premature granule loss on shingles or corrosion in aluminum gutters—while the workmanship warranty covers the human element of the job. If a shingle blows off due to improper nailing spacing, that’s workmanship. If it blows off because the shingle’s adhesive strip failed even though it was installed correctly, that’s material. Both warranties work together to give you full peace of mind.
What is not covered under the workmanship warranty?
The warranty excludes damage caused by extreme weather events (tornadoes, hail larger than 1.25 in., wind gusts exceeding manufacturer ratings), falling trees, pests, improper homeowner maintenance, or alterations performed by another contractor. It also does not cover normal wear such as fading or minor cosmetic blemishes that do not affect performance. We will, however, help you document storm-related damage for any applicable insurance claim.
How do I file a workmanship warranty claim if I notice an issue?
Simply call our Huntland office at the number on your completion packet or submit the online warranty form. Provide photos if possible and describe the issue and its location. We respond within one business day, schedule a free on-site inspection within five, and supply a written plan for repair. All warranty repairs receive priority scheduling, are completed by our in-house crews, and carry the balance of your original workmanship warranty.
Is the workmanship warranty transferable to a new homeowner if I sell my property?
Yes. You may transfer the workmanship warranty one time at no charge within the first five years by notifying us in writing within 60 days of closing. After five years, a $150 inspection and transfer fee applies so we can verify the roof and gutters have been properly maintained. Transferability is a valuable selling point and gives the new owner confidence that their roof and gutter system in Huntland remain protected.
