If a shingle blows off due to improper nailing spacing, that’s workmanship. If it blows off because the shingle’s adhesive strip failed even though it was installed correctly, that’s material. Both warranties work together to give you full peace of mind.
What is not covered under the workmanship warranty?
The warranty excludes damage caused by extreme weather events (tornadoes, hail larger than 1.25 in., wind gusts exceeding manufacturer ratings), falling trees, pests, improper homeowner maintenance, or alterations performed by another contractor. It also does not cover normal wear such as fading or minor cosmetic blemishes that do not affect performance. Is the workmanship warranty transferable to a new homeowner if I sell my property?
Yes. You may transfer the workmanship warranty one time at no charge within the first five years by notifying us in writing within 60 days of closing. After five years, a $150 inspection and transfer fee applies so we can verify the roof and gutters have been properly maintained.
