FAQs

What types of roofing and siding warranties do you provide for Delano homeowners?

We offer two primary warranty categories: (1) manufacturer warranties that protect you against material defects in shingles, metal panels, vinyl siding, and accessories; and (2) our own workmanship warranty that guarantees every aspect of the installation. Most manufacturer warranties are limited lifetime for residential customers, while our workmanship warranty spans 10 years on roofing and 5 years on siding—well above the local industry norm.

How long do your roofing and siding warranties remain in effect?

For asphalt shingle roofs you receive a limited lifetime manufacturer warranty, which translates to full non-prorated coverage for the first 50 years and prorated coverage thereafter. Metal roofing usually carries a 40- to 50-year paint-finish warranty. Vinyl and composite siding products come with 30- to 50-year fade and defect protection. Our workmanship warranty covers installation defects for 10 years on roofs and 5 years on siding, starting from the completion date recorded on your final invoice.

What exactly is covered—and what is not covered—under these warranties?

Manufacturer warranties cover premature cracking, granule loss, rust perforation, vinyl warping, and other issues proven to be the result of factory defects. They generally do NOT cover damage from storms, improper maintenance, or alterations made by others. Our workmanship warranty covers leaks, loose panels, flashing failures, or siding blow-offs stemming from installation errors. Exclusions include consequential damages to interior finishes and issues caused by acts of God, neglected maintenance, or third-party work.

Can I transfer the warranty if I sell my Delano property?

Yes. All of the major roofing and siding manufacturers we partner with allow a one-time free transfer within the first 10 years, provided the new owner notifies the manufacturer in writing within 60 days of closing. Our workmanship warranty is also transferable once at no charge. This transferability can be a strong selling point, adding value and confidence for potential buyers.

How do I file a warranty claim, and how quickly will you respond?

Simply call our Delano service line or submit the online claim form. We will confirm your warranty status, schedule an on-site inspection within 3–5 business days, and document the issue with photos. If it falls under workmanship, we typically complete repairs within 10 business days. For manufacturer claims, we handle the paperwork, submit evidence, and coordinate with the factory rep. Manufacturer decisions usually take 2–4 weeks, after which replacement materials or reimbursements are issued.

Do I need to perform maintenance or inspections to keep my warranty valid?

Yes. Both manufacturer and workmanship warranties require basic upkeep: keep gutters clear, remove overhanging branches, and inspect the roof and siding annually for visible damage. You do not have to hire us for maintenance, but all repairs must be carried out by a licensed contractor using approved materials. Neglecting maintenance or performing unauthorized repairs can void your coverage, so be sure to document any maintenance work with receipts and photos.
